No woman is invisible or irrelevant.

That's what our founder, Jacynth Bassett, believes.

It began when Jacynth grew saddened by her mum’s frustration at her ever-lasting love for style constantly being squashed by the dowdy/frumpy/boring/unflattering designs now typically targeting her. It was a constant struggle to find beautiful, quality garments she would really love to wear.

In 2015 Jacynth launched her blog – for women who know age shouldn’t limit style - offering style tips, inspiration, interviews with dynamic women, and discussion on age-prejudice within the Fashion Industry. She hoped it would go down well, but was overwhelmed by the resoundingly positive response from readers echoing the same sentiments as her mum.

So the-Bias-Cut.com as it is today was born: Shopping With Attitude - Where Ageism Is Never In Style

We believe that every woman should be able to find those exceptional pieces that truly celebrate the best version of herself today. So we curate limited collections featuring designs by some of today's most highly talented contemporary labels & designers, always with you in mind.

Every piece we select is:

  • exceptional quality

  • a flattering cut

  • modern & stylish yet won't date

Plus all our designs are modelled by normal women (in fact, they're our customers!), of different heights, shapes and sizes - because we believe every woman is beautiful.

Our eclectic collections reflect Jacynth's thorough and in depth understanding of different women's bodies and shapes, as well as cut and fabrics. Throw into the mix her stylish, contemporary eye, and Jacynth is swift becoming recognised as one of the UK's leading experts and pioneers of believing in style at every age.

Our pieces have been featured in the likes of Vogue, The Sunday Times Style, Stylist Magazine, Stella Magazine and many other leading Fashion publications.

Additionally Jacynth is leading the change through being:

  • A contributing writer for The Huffington Post

  • A contributing author for internationally published book "Having It All After 50"

  • The weekly Style Advisor for one of the largest 45+ female forums: The Menopause Room

  • A ViewVo accredited 'Expert Mentor' - as Seen In The Sunday Times

  • A regular speaker on panels and podcasts discussing ageism in Fashion and being a female entrepreneur

  • Recognised as changing the face of the Fashion Industry by Branding Magazine

Because ultimately our aim isn't just to curate beautiful collections. It's to cut through ageism in Fashion once and for all.

So will you join the movement?
