Skiwear With Style: Our Collaboration with Winternational Part 1

As a small independent fashion online boutique, I always think it's important to support similar businesses, who share the same ethos and values. I first met Tamsin, founder of online designer skiwear boutique Winternational, over a year ago at a networking event, and we instantly clicked. We're both passionate about supporting independent designers, championing style at every age, and investing in slow sustainable fashion; quality over quantity.  For some time we've been talking about collaborating as our boutiques sit perfectly alongside each other. Finally a couple of weekends ago we got together to have fun playing dress up in each...

What Does 50 Look Like Today?

Look at this picture. How old do you think this man and woman are? The other day I was flicking through my facebook feed when a post for Lumen, the new 50+ dating app, came up, featuring this picture. In the comments section were several accusations of the woman in the picture not being in her 50s – one even said she could be the man’s daughter. So today...

You may remember last May I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Professor Carolyn Mair on the psychology of fashion, and it inspired me to write this piece on why colour matters. But, not only did I find the talk fascinating, I found it really interesting that Professor Mair didn't start in fashion; she was a psychologist who eventually decided to focus on the industry.  Fashion is sometimes thought of as an industry that's stupid and only for 'bimboes'. But it's far from it; in the UK alone it's worth £32 billion, so there has to be some brains...

    Introducing Our New Collection

Autumn has arrived, and so has our fabulous new collection. This season we continue to focus on what we excel at: beautiful fabrics, flattering cuts and statement, contemporary styles. As you know, since day 1 we’ve featured ‘real women’ as our models. It’s something I’m particularly proud of, especially since many said it wouldn’t work and we’ve definitely proven otherwise! Our models have ranged from 5ft to 5ft 10, size UK 6 to UK 16, and this season we’ve welcomed 3 more beautiful ladies to the family: Evey, Bukky and Emma. The 3 ladies are roughly the same dress size,...
